Precious Diamond Text Effect

Hi there! This is a new nice ‘n’ simple tutorial I’m going to be showing you how to make a precious diamond text effect like the one shown in the image below:

Now, firstly, you’ll have to create a new document in which you can make this text effect. For this tutorial I’m simply going to be using a size 1000×500 px and fill it with white color:

• Gradient Overlay

Ok, to stylize more this gradient, create a new layer and merge it with previous to get all layer effects in one layer. After that apply Filter > Brush Strokes > Sprayed Strokes with following settings:

See the results now:

Ok, the next step what we need to do as add a little bit noise. Create one more layer and fill it with black color, after that apply Filter > Noise > Add Noise to this layer:

Ok, now change layer mode to Screen and set opacity up to 50%.

Alright, time to write out your text. I’ll just be using the font called Helios-Black (180 pt, Crisp) for this tutorial, which is unfortunately commercial, that’s why feel free to use another one similar to that, for example, Arial Black, that comes with Windows. Select the Horizontal Type Tool and write out something like ‘JEWELRY’ below.

After that I think it will be a good idea to find some appropriate pattern with diamonds to apply it in our text effect later. Use Google Images to find diamond patterns or you can use mine. Open this picture and discolor it with Image > Adjustments > Desaturate, then resize image to 17х17px:

Make our picture a little bit sharper with Sharpen Tool (Mode: Normal, Strength: 50%):

After that use Edit > Define Pattern to save this picture as pattern. Go back to our created file and apply the following layer styles to the text layer:

• Drop Shadow
• Bevel and Emboss
• Contour
• Pattern Overlay
• Stroke

Now you should have a nice look like this:

You might want to experiment with different filters and layer styles and all that to get some unique outcomes, you just have to get creative! Well, that’s just about it for this tutorial… I hope I didn’t miss anything out! Thanks for reading everyone! I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial!
