My name is Luis and i am the new owner of Photoshopstar.com.
Site was bought last month and was transferred to my servers after purchase.
I am already working on Photoshopstar.com fixing small bugs, removing unnecessary code and preparing site for changes.
I have many plans to Photoshopstar.com including fixing older tutorials and update several of them to CS5. I will post on site which tutorials were updated from time to time.
As part of this effort, i would like to hear your thoughts on the site, and what you would like to see in the future.
Feel free to post your ideas and comments on this post to help me create a better Photoshopstar.com to all readers.

Couple of suggestions:
1) If you want feedback, you’re going to need to allow guests to post comments on the site. Since the second owner disabled guest comments there has been very little activity on the part of the site visitor (and with good reason).
2) Go easier on the ads. If you need, remove some of the more common and invasive ads (the ad blocks) and start doing promotions of products that the readers might be interested in (or something of that sort, if you can). I would have done something like this but I didn’t really have the knowledge or manpower.
3) Redesign, restructure, realign, simplify, new take on promotion.

I know. There is a lot of things to fix and i already started fixing some.
There was too much garbage and lack of maintenance on Photoshopstar.com. I just want to simplify this site (like you said).
And after cleaning some files and removing some plug-ins site is already a bit faster.
New design, new wordpress version, new ad system and a lot of other things will came with time. I need to be patient because there is too much work to be made.
But i always loved this site and right now i can help improving it so it can be a good learning place to all users.

Although im not a professional photoshop user, and not a perfect designer, but i find photoshop to be a good intertainment, more like a hobby to me.
What i would suggest is that you send to the subscribers some tutorials more often, since i got only 2 new tutorials from the last 2 months :S
Anyhow, keep up the good work. Come our with fresh ideas!!

first i must say guys are doing a great job, because this website added more to my talent in photoshop,like what somebody say that we should be allow to leave comments on designs i think its a very good idea, more also we should be allow to post our designs, i remember there was a day i came up with a design, i sent a mail to the email address on this website, but i did not get response from anybody, so i think is one of the things you need to look at.

Have had your site on my fav list for quite sometime…and am glad to hear that you are working towards making it even better. As an artist and graphic designer I find myself always ‘researching’ photoshop…you can never ever learn it all!

Don´t worry: Photoshopstar.com is all about photoshop tutorials, photoshop tutorials and photoshop tutorials.
Right now, 1 tutorial per day is too much because i am still trying to organize everyhing and one thing that i need to have is a list of tutorials ready to be published.
I still need to update a few things on Photohopstar.com like cache system, template for new tutorials and so it will take a few more days to publish new tutorials.
Give me a few more days and everything will be ok.

For starter, congratulations on the web site, I’m glad by your enthusiasm
I’m a regular follower of the web site though I’m not an expert in Photoshop but I enjoy applying the tutorials so much, and what I like the most is the good level of representation.
That’s why I have this suggestion to (provide) these tutorials in different languages.. Even though Photoshop itself and the level of language in the tutorials are very easy, but having a choice in languages will have a double benefit.. more visitors will follow with such service, and it would attract professional designers to present their tutorials in this web site specifically
I’m the first with the willingness and desire to help with the Arabic language section
more over I’d like to help with whatever I can ^^

You should make new tutorials more often. I really like them and often go check if there are any new ones. But it sometimes takes weeks before a new one comes out.
try to make all tutorials in video format

Start by putting an “s” at the end of tutorial on your main logo. Or is there only 1 tutorial?
maybe take outside authors for tutorials for a more constant flow?

Try to add more tutorial a week as i daily looking for a new one, and yes add some more tutorial to “Website Design” right now it’s having less and old entries.. with all this i also want to say that it will be great if you can provide video tutorial.

This is good that gusts can put comments and tutorials don’t have to be in video mode just stay like this but keep putting tutorials i tried every one made til now…
Photoshopstar.com is a great site which I learner photoshop from. New tutorials could apear more often. Maybe you could have more info about coloring, shadows and that kind of things, for artists who like to color theis paintings with photoshop

Photoshop tutorials are extreemly handy for the novice-Intermediate user, but please keep in mind that there are people out there who do this as a hobby and can’t afford the newer photoshop CS-5 thus having to stick with the older versions of photoshop.. It would be helpfull to also include photoshop tutorials that works on all platforms as well.. Just a thought..

Just a quick thought about your proposal to update older tut’s to CS5. Please remember that not all of us are lucky enough to be able to afford CS5, especially those of us who are only hobbiests, personally I’m still using PS7. Please don’t forget to include content suitable for those who don’t have the latest most up to date versions.

as my old digital media teacher used to tell us “remember KISS when working.” KISS= Keep It Simple Stupid. My advice: less IS more. keep the site simple and user friendly. Maintain the easy to understand tutorials and also please dont kill us by updating to CS5. I ditto the earlier posts that this is a hobbiest site. Basically keep the website as close to what it was. A simple,FREE, user friendly website dedicated to helping people become creative and outstanding photoshopstars. On a tutorial level i think more should be done to teach users to manipulate real photos. Try to find a balance between the artsy stuff and real photo manipulation. Update the photo effects.
If you could also put website tut for beginners and design contests.
I love using actions, so anything like free actions, or useful actions (in easy to follow steps) would be great!

possibly have more abstract imagery to do, alot of the things like the pear man face tut were really good and a few of the badge tutorials aswell were really helpful.
and just the same as some people have already said to keep things simple, try not to over complicate the way things are phrased or how some of the tutorials are done, fair enough i know well by usin photoshop alot that ya have to get alot of detail into the tutorials to get certain effects done and all but at the same time if ya ramble on into pointless other things ya may think are important arent needed.
Ill leave it there otherwise i will end up rantin on too much.
But in fairness though this is one of the best sites i have found for photoshop tutorials so keep up the good work!

Why not create or get users/admins to create the tutorials in different versions and have by the post a link to the different Photoshop versions. this way everybody would be happy and covered. Just a thought and good luck.

Start off by including the .PSD’s with your tutorials like the original owner USE to do, but doesnt anymore. Possibly have a free font’s page, where people can download fonts, or even a general downloads page for fonts, grahics, backgrops, free stock photos, etc.
but including the .psd is a big step forward for sure.. I’m sure everyone agrees.
Convert Tutorials for GIMP?!???
I would love to see more manipulation tutorials such as monsterous effects, body reshaping, hair, eye color and skin changes.
