Canon has announced its EOS-1D Mark IV camera oriented at professional photographers.

Canon EOS-1D Mark IV is equipped with a 16.1-megapixel CMOS sensor and two high-performance DIGIC 4 image processing engines. The camera is based on the top-notch 45-point autofocus technology, the light sensitivity reaches 102,400 ISO allowing the camera to shoot high-quality images in poor lighting conditions.

Another important feature, making this camera a perfect choice for a professional, is its ability to record Full HD 1920х1080-resolution videos at the speed of 30 fps. Recording at a 720-pixel mode (with a resolution of 1280х720) the recording speed can be increased to 60 fps. The camera provides a mode of continuous shooting at the speed of 10 fps.

The new camera is featuring a 3-inch Clear View II display and supports Live View function. The exposure ranges from 1/8000 to 30 sec, the data can be stored on CompactFlash and Secure Digital flash memory cards, the camera features HDMI and USB 2.0 connectivity.

The camera’s size measures up to 156х157х80mm, and it weights about 1.2kg (without the battery and accessories).

Canon EOS-1D Mark IV will be delivered to stores at the end of December and will be sold at approximately $5,000.

Liquid Image Company has developed an extraordinary mask, equipped with a camcorder able to capture HD-quality video.  

Scuba Series HD320 device is also featuring a 1/2.5-inch, 5-megapixel CMOS sensor, 2.8mm lens, 64 Mb of built-in memory and SD/SDHC slot for cards with capacity of up to 32 Gb. The mask also possesses a built-in microphone and a small LCD reflecting the camcorder’s work mode, battery capacity and the current time.

HD320 camcorder mask allows to shoot 2560х1920-resolution images and record 1280х720-resolution video at 30 fps speed. All the videos will be saved in H.264 format.

The minimum focal length of the camcorder makes up to 0.5 meter, the shutter reacts with a speed of 1/4 to 1/1000 sec. White color balance and light sensitivity (within the range of 100-200 ISO) can be automatically configured.

The camcorder is powered by for ААА-type batteries. The battery capacity is sufficient for shooting 2,000 pictures or 2 hours of video recording. The size of the device amounts to 8.9х18.7х13.3cm, its weight is approximately 360g.

Scuba Series HD320 camcorder mask is already being sold in stores at $250.

Sigma has announced its semiprofessional DP1s camera, introducing an updated version of DP1, which was launched last spring.

The new camera borrowed its 14-megapixel Foveon X3 sensor and TRUE (Three-layer Responsive Ultimate Engine) image processing engine from the original. As well as the previous version, DP1s is equipped with a 2.5-inch 230,000-resolution LCD display and is able to record 320X240-pixel video at the speed of 30 fps.

The camera is featuring a lot of useful innovations, like a simultaneous RAW and JPEG recording and Quick set function operated by digital zoom buttons, already tested on DP2 model. In order to provide faster and more convenient operation, the camera possesses a 16.6mm f/4 lens.

The camera package also includes Sigma Photo Pro software, allowing to process digital images.

As for the price and date of launching of Sigma DP1s model, there is no official information, however rumor has it that the new model will be delivered to stores as early as November this year.

General Imaging has announced the launching of its first compact G3WP digital camera with a waterproof and highly-durable case allowing the camera to shoot pictures safely at depth of up to 3 meters.
The camera features a 12.2-megapixel sensor with sensitivity of up to 3,200 ISO units. The lens provides 4x optical zoom (4.5x digital zoom) and built-in image stabilization function. The camera also features a 234,000-resolution 2.7-inch LCD display and 116MB of built-in memory. The camera supports SDHC cards with up to 8 GB of storage space.
G3WP camera is equipped with a widespread PictBridge technology, allowing to print out the images straight from the camera without needing to use a computer. Other functions the camera possesses include: face, smile, blinking recognition, red-eye reduction.
The device is powered by a 700 mAh battery. The size of the model is 9.39 x 6.09 x 2.28cm, and its weight amounts to about 120g.
General Imaging G3WP camera is expected to arrive in the middle of the month in red, blue and gray cases. Its estimated price will make up to $200.

Due it the capabilities of the new highly sensitive CMOS-sensor (FX format, with the resolution of 12,1 megapixel), and the function of high-resolution video capturing, introduced on Nikon cameras for the first time, the D3S model has become increasingly interesting for professional photographers.

The ISO rating of the given CMOS-sensor ranges from 200 to 12 800 ISO units (can be adjusted to 100 – 102 400 units with the help of Lo-1 and Hi-3 settings). If the user has a stereo microphone, the camera’s D-movie function allows capturing HD video with stereo sound. The camera is equipped with HDMI out for the connection to HD video systems.

The feature, differentiating Nikon D3S from other similar cameras, except for the video capturing mode, are the extended capabilities for filming with bad lighting. Moreover, the camera is good for shooting fast-moving objects due to the 51-point auto focus system (modes from 9.21 to 51 point auto focus).

The new camera features the image sensor cleaning function and allows three crop modes (5:4, 1.2x and DX ). The maximum speed of shooting makes up to 9 fps (up to 11fps in DX mode), the special function allows the camera to save selected frames.

Nikon D3S is equipped with a wide-angle 3”LCD display with the resolution of 920.000 pixels.

The camera is supplied with a built-in image processing system, the 14-bit A/D conversion and a 16-bit image-processing pipeline allow to apply various color effect to the images. This model is able to process RAW images, and the retouch menus allow compress images into JPEG format, customize the size of the image, white color balance, exposure and the amount of noise and work in Picture Control mode.

What’s amazing in this particular camera is the abundance of various features. One of them is the touch panel interface introduced in Canon cameras for the first time. This model features a bright and crisp 3 inch touch-screen LCD, 12.1 megapixel sensor and 5x zoom length with optical stabilization for blur reduction, together with the function of high definition video capturing.

The HD movie mode this camera features allows to record widescreen HD movies with the resolution of 720p. The HDMI port allows to connect the camera to a HD display.

The Smart Auto function customizes the shooting according to 22 predefined situations from the camera’s database. Scene Detection Technology helps to recognize the faces, color, distance and motion, and Face Detection tool makes it easier to adjust the color of the face in the scenes with tricky lighting. Another option for optimization of portrait images is the manual auto focus – to set up the focus all the user needs to do is to just tap his finger on the touch screen.

Without going too much into technical details, we should say that Canon PowerShot SD980 IS works well with shooting the moving objects, capturing landscape and night shooting. Thanks to a variety of modes the camera is perfect for shooting fireworks, snow, beach and the sunset, pets and kids, indoor shooting. Its advanced functionality allows to process images right in the camera – swapping colors, retaining one of the colors on the image, building panoramic pictures are now made possible within just a couple of clicks.

The camera comes in four different color solutions that will reflect the style of its owner: Silver, Blue, Purple, and Gold.

Fujifilm has recently officially introduced its breakthrough 3D FinePix Real W1 camera. The most noticeable feature the camera possesses is, of course, its ability to shoot 3D pictures. It goes without saying that it is good for 2D shooting as well.
The camera features 3x optical zoom and Dual Capture mode allowing the users to take two images at once. It is based on Real 3D system, which uses two CCD sensors in order to shoot two images at a time, to later put them together into a single stereo image with the help of camera’s built-in image processor. As well as many other modern generation digital cameras, FujiFilm FinePix Real 3D W1 is able to record high definition 3D video.
The camera’s equipped with a 3D LCD display, which allows viewing the images without having to wear special stereo glasses.
As for the Real 3D V1 picture viewer, it is equipped with an 8-inch LCD display with 800×600 resolution. The Display supports the playback of 3D images and videos, as well as traditional 2D pics and movies. The viewer supports SD / SDHC memory cards.
Moreover, FujiFilm has announced about its in-house service that will print 3D pictures based on the images received by mail and send them to the camera users.
