Photoshop Tutorials

I wanted to choose the winners judging by if they would use the subs to their fullest extent, so I looked at how active the users were. The winners I’ve come up with:
I decided to throw in a 3-month and a 1-month subscription as well
Sorry to those that were left out, but thank you all for leaving a comment on the previous post.

Firstly, sorry for the lack of updates. Now, onto more important matters!
I’m looking to give away 2 12-month deviantART subscriptions, worth $29.95 each. All you have to do to enter this ‘competition’ is leave a comment below, preferably using your deviantART account as the URL!

I’m going to wait until this post receives around/at least 50 comments before drawing the winners, so please feel free to tell your friends about it and get them to leave a comment as well.
Thanks
* the star just means only two people will be receiving the subscriptions!
Please note that this promotion is now over. Thank you!

In this Photoshop tutorial we’ll be learning how to design a simple, urban-style logo, good for your local band website or something like that
You can see exactly what we’ll be designing below.

Outlaw Design Blog has recently published an interesting post, 63 Must Have Grunge Fonts.

You’ve gotta check these out, there’s tons of beautiful grunge fonts here!

There have been several sites lately that incorporate wood in the design in some way or another. It gives a site a warm and natural feel, and can help make the design look great when done tastefully. If you have yet to do a design with wood, here are a few textures that might help you get in on the action.

Hey guys, eye candy tutorial!
In this short Photoshop tutorial we’ll be creating our own cool scotch tape, so you can stick things to stuff… and the like
These kinds of graphics are also particularly useful for grunge-themed website designs.

Have you ever tried finding a golden ribbon inside of a chocolate bar wrapping to no avail? Well that’s obviously because there are none in them! Just joking, but seriously, who needs real ribbons when we can make our own?
In this quick Photoshop tutorial we’ll be designing our own sweet, golden ribbon! This is a basic tutorial, however I won’t exactly be detailing all the tools, etc. in-depth so much, so this might be suitable for new Photoshop users.

You can see what we’ll be designing in the above image. Twist it, lick it, dunk it, eat it. Use it on your site, these are multi-purpose ribbons!
I thought we would celebrate the upcoming release of Indiana Jones IV, the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull by learning how to remake the awesome Indiana Jones text! So, I’m going to attempt to remake the text effect used in the posters and promotional images
Please note that attempt is emphasized above! This is as close as I could get it, I hope it’s good enough!

In this little Photoshop tutorial we’ll be designing a quick art piece, then we’ll be adding some texture to it, this is to demonstrate the use of texture in artwork, as you may be able to see in works from people such as GoMedia. Obviously this method will work better with some things and not so well with others, so please try to use it in moderation, if you will.

Yes, my opinion may be a little bit biased in the above image, but you know, you get the point
