In this Photoshop tutorial I would like to show you creative way how to displace the text and get an interesting effect on it.

To start create a new document sized 1000×500 pixels and fill it with color of #f4f4f4.

After that add some dark line to divide the floor from the wall. Get out the Elliptical Marquee Tool and create selection as shown on the picture which you can see below. Then fill this selected area with black to transparent gradient.

Remove selection with Ctrl+D and apply Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur with similar settings to these:

The result should look like this:

Move to the next step. Select Horizontal Type Tool to write out the text on the middle of canvas on whish we will demonstrate displaced effect.

In the above image I’ve used Arial Black (250 pt, Crisp) as my font of choice. Then apply Bevel and Emboss and Gradient Overlay layer styles to this layer.

The result should be next:

Create a new one layer above and merge it with text layer to get all the styles in one layer. After that we need to add some shadow under the letters. Create a new one layer under the current and make elliptical selection with Elliptical Marquee Tool. Fill selected area with black color.

Remove selection with Ctrl+D and press Ctrl+F to apply the previous filter effect to this layer.

Then apply Filter > Blur > Motion Blur with next presets:

The result should be next:

Duplicate this layer three of times with Ctrl+J to add the shadow under each letter.

Ok, after that go to the text layer and start creating displace effect. Use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to create selection as you can see on the picture below.

Press Ctrl+Shift+J to cut selected area on the new layer. Use Move Tool to move a new layer a little bit.

Make the same things a few times more.

Looks interesting, isn’t it? To finish off the effect I would like to add a robot that moves the text. The picture of robot you can download from here. Also feel free to use your own pictures. So, open up the picture and copy it to our main canvas with text. Then reduce the picture a little bit.

To finish off the tutorial we should add the shadow under robots’ leg. Create a new one layer under the current. Then use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to create selection which you can see on the picture below. After that fill this selection with black color.

Deselect chosen area with Ctrl+D and blur the shadow with Blur Tool.

Then use the Smudge Tool (Brush: 10px, Mode: Normal: Strength: 33%) to bring the shadow realistic view.

Add the shadow under second leg in the same way.

Ok, we are done for now! We get creative displaced text effect. I am happy with the result, hope you to!

In this tutorial you will learn how to create text on fire, also I will explain all the techniques how to transform the text in right format.

First of all you’ll have to start by finding some appropriate picture. I prefer to use this one which you can see below:

Ok, now we need to add the text to the canvas to work with. Get out the Horizontal Type Tool and write out something like ‘Fire’ with any color you want.

In the above image I’ve used AvantGarde as my font of choice. Actually, it is commercial, but if you don’t have it, you can easily find a good alternative. After that I would like to add some layer styles such as Drop Shadow, Outer Glow, Inner Glow, Satin and Color Overlay for this text layer.

Ok, move to the next step. After that create a new layer above and merge it with text layers to get all the effects in one layer. Then select the Smudge Tool (Brush: 10 px, Mode: Normal, Strength: 79%) and try to make some strokes as on my picture you can see below.

Then apply Filter > Liquify and play a little with different tools to get the result maximum similar to mine:

And the last one thing that we need to do is to put the word into the fire. For this effect select the Eraser Tool and a soft round brush about 20 pixels (Opacity: 40%) and make some clear work to finish off the tutorial.

I’m going to share with you about how to make modern designed text effect by using some layer styles. Is it interesting for you? If yes, let’s start to read and make!

First of all, make a new document in Photoshop. I created a new document sized 1000×500 pixels with all the default settings, RGB, 72 dpi and fill it with gradient by using colors of #8f9290, #303231 and #8f9290.

Then press D to set up standard colors for foreground and background (as black and white). After that apply Filter > Sketch > Halftone > Pattern with similar settings to these:

Now you should have some pattern like this:

Create one more layer above and fill it with black color. Then change opacity to 85% for this layer.

Now, start with creating text effect directly. Get out the Horizontal Type Tool and write out your text, for example ‘DREAMD’ in whatever color you want.

In the above image I’ve used a font called Incised901, which is one of standard Windows fonts. After that you should find some appropriate picture whish u can add to the text. It would be better if this is a picture with small elements. You can use some pics on Google Images or also feel free to use mine picture. Open up the file and copy it to the main canvas above the text layer. Change opacity to 70% for current layer and apply Edit > Free Transform to reduce the picture a little bit. Hold Shift button to reduce it pro rata.

Go to the text layer and use Select > Load Selection to select text area. Remove this layer, we don’t need it more.

Go to the layer with picture and press Ctrl+Shift+J to cut selected area to the new layer. Set up opacity to 100% for current layer again and remove the layer under also.

Use the Sharpen Tool to sharpen the text.

Duplicate current layer with Ctrl+J. Then go to previous layer and apply Filter > Blur > Motion Blur with similar settings to these:

Now we have interesting effect.

Go to the upper layer again and apply the following layer styles to the text layer:
• Drop Shadow
• Inner Shadow
• Outer Glow
• Inner Glow
• Bevel and Emboss
• Contour
• Satin
• Stroke

In this small, but useful tutorial I’m going to share with you about how to make an interesting summer text effect by using some layer styles.

First of all, we need to find the texture where we will demonstrate out text effect. Download my grass texture form here or feel free to use your own textures.

Ok, now I would like to add some small detail on the background, it should be something contrast and bright. I think the picture of butterfly will be fine. Download the picture of butterfly form here. Open up it and copy it to our main canvas. Then press Ctrl+T to reduce picture of butterfly.

Then apply the Sharpen Tool to sharpen current layer a little bit.

Ok, then apply Drop Shadow and Outer Glow layer styles to this layer.

Now we can start with text effect. Get out the Horizontal Type Tool and write out your text, for example ‘Grass’ in whatever color you want.

In the above image I’ve used a font called Arial Black. Now, set up fill opacity to 0% for this text layer and apply the following layer styles to the text layer: Drop Shadow, Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss, Satin, Color Overlay and Stroke

Now your image should now look like the image shown below:

On this Photoshop tutorial I’m going to show u how to make one interesting effect which I received by experimenting with Photoshop filters. In the end our effect will looks like cardiac rate.

Ok, let’s begin. Create a new document sized 700×700 pixels and fill it with black color.

After that apply Gradient Overlay layer style.

The result should be next:

After that create a new layer and merge it with previous to get all effects in one layer. Then apply Filter > Brush Strokes > Sprayed Strokes with next parameters:

See the difference now?

Ok, now we can start with creating effect. Select the Horizontal Type Tool and write out something like ‘BEAT.’ Pay your attention that the text color should be white and different design elements also. Only in this way effect of applying a filter will be maximum.

In the above image I’ve used Swis721 as my font of choice, which is free and it’s sized at a meager 120 pt. Ok after that we need to add a few lines more. Select the Line Tool (Weight: 3 px) and draw the lines like on my picture below:

After that merge text layer with lines in one layer. Then select the Eraser Tool and hard round brush and make some clear work on the new layer.

Good, then rotate our layer about 90 degrees with Edit > Transform > Rotate 90 CCW.

After that apply Filter>Stylize>Wind with similar settings to these:

See the effect now:

Then press Ctrl+F to enhance the action filter.

After that apply Filter>Stylize>Wind again, but now you need to change some parameters:

The result should be next:

Again press Ctrl+F to enhance the action filter again.

Looking good isn’t it? But this tutorial is not done for now. After that use Edit > Transform > Rotate 90 CW to rotate text with lines back.

Then apply Outer Glow and Color Overlay layer styles for this layer.

Ok, now you should have the result like this on my picture below.

Here one more tutorial about how to create very interesting rainbow glare text effect.

Let’s start! First of all you should create new document sized 500×500 pixels and fill our new canvas with black color.

After that use the Horizontal Type Tool to add the text line with any color (I prefer to use white color) in the middle of the canvas. The font that I’ve used for this tutorial AvantGarde Md BT. Set up following presets for your text:

You should have the same result as mine:

Ok, after that use Layer > Rasterize > Type to rasterize type layer. Then get out the Rectangular Marquee Tool to create selection as on my picture below and press Ctrl+Shift+J to cut selected letter to the new layer.

After that apply Color Overlay layer style to new layer:

Now we have something like this:

Ok, go back to the text line layer and cut every letter to separate layer in the same way. Apply the same Blending Options to each letter. Use following colors: #074d9d, #0496b7, #00992b, #8c9f09, #a55405 and #9f0929.

After that merge all letters in one layer again and press Ctrl+J to duplicate current layer. Go to lower original layer and apply Filter > Blur > Motion Blur with similar settings to these:

Now we have effect like this:

Ok, looking good, isn’t it? Keep on creating effect. Go to the upper layer and use Select > Load Selection to load selection of our text line. Now, use the Rectangular Marquee Tool and hold Alt button to cut away lower part of selection. Fill selected area with white to transparent gradient.

Ok, we are almost done! Remove selection with Ctrl+D and use the Horizontal Type Tool again to add one more text line. Apply the next text presets for current text layer:

You can see the result below:

Then apply the Gradient Overlay layer style to current text layer:

Now you should have something like this:

Nice short tutorial how to create simple but spectacular fabric text effect.

Let’s go! First of all, make a new document in Photoshop. I created a new document sized 1000×500 pixels with all the default settings, RGB, 72 dpi, transparent background etc. Then find some appropriate fabric texture. Actually, you can use Google Images to find the texture or feel free to use mine. Open up the texture and copy it to the canvas.

Now, duplicate this texture three of times and combine as below. Be attentive that texture edges are different (you can see arrows on the borders).

Use the Eraser Tool and a soft round brush about 50 ps to make the edge of textures softer and invisible.

Ok, merge all of texture layers in one and apply Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation.

You should have the result similar to this:

Make texture clearer with Sharpen Tool:

Ok, we are done with background. Let’s start to create text effect. Get out the Horizontal Type Tool and write out your text, for example ‘ClotH’ in whatever color you want. I’ve used a font called Arial Black (300 pt, Crisp). This is standard Windows font.

After that change fill opacity to 85% for this layer and begin to create text effect. First of all we need to add some pattern to Photoshop patterns palette to use it for creating text effect later. Open this texture or find another one using Google Images and use Edit > Define Pattern to save this picture as pattern. Go back to our created file and apply the following layer styles to the text layer:
• Drop Shadow
• Inner Shadow
• Outer Glow
• Inner Glow
• Bevel and Emboss
• Contour
• Satin
• Color Overlay
• Pattern Overlay
• Stroke

Now your image should now look like the image shown below:

Start by creating a new document to make this text effect. I created a small document sized 500×300 pixels and fill it with color of #74a103:

After that cerate a new one layer, then select the Elliptical Marquee Tool and make the selection, then fill this selected area with color of #b6e100.

Remove the selection with Ctrl+D and apply Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur with similar settings to these:

Your result should look like mine:

Now it’s time to add your text to the canvas! Start by getting out the Horizontal Type Tool then write out your text.

The font I’ve used above is called Futura. Ok, start to create the text effect. Rasterize this text layer with Layer > Rasterize > Type. Press Ctrl+J to copy the layer and hide the original layer (click on the eye, which indicates layer visibility). Go to the upper layer and apply Gradient Overlay layer style to this layer.

See the difference now:

Start to transform current layer with Edit > Transform > Skew to get the text as on my picture below:

Now, we need to do is add the glare on the letters. Create a new layer and make selection using the Rectangular Marquee Tool as on picture below and fill it with white color.

Remove the selection with Ctrl+D and apply Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur with following parameters:

After that create a new one layer, make selection using the Rectangular Marquee Tool and fill it with white color again.

Remove selection and apply Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur with other parameters:

Your image should look as mine.

Merge two of these layers in one and rotate it a little bit with Edit > Transform > Rotate:

Duplicate this glare three of times and bring to each letter.

Merge all glares in one layer. Ok, press Ctrl and Left click the text layer Thumbnail in the Layers Palette to make letters selection, then press Ctrl+Shift+I to invert selection and use Delete to clear selected area.

Remove the selection with Ctrl+D. Go back to the hidden text layer and make it visible again. After that apply Edit > Transform > Skew to skew this layer.

Don’t apply transformation unless don’t reduce the height of the letters with Edit > Transform > Scale.

Ok, apply Color Overlay layer style to this layer.

Now, we have different color for the letters.

After that create a new one layer, then select the Polygonal Lasso Tool and begin to connect the upper part of the letter with its projection. After that fill selected area with color of #689106.

Finish other letters in the same way.

Ok, merge current layer with layer under. Now, we can start create volumetric letters. Get out the Polygonal Lasso Tool and create selection as on my picture below. Then apply the Dodge Tool (Brush: 45 px, Range: Midtones, Exposure: 30%).

After that press Ctrl+Shift+I to invert the selection and apply the Dodge Tool with similar settings as before.

Ok, now select the Burn Tool (Brush: 45 px, Range: Midtones, Exposure: 30%) and add a little bit more dark spots on the letter side. Then remove the selection with Ctrl+D.

Process other letters in the same way.

In this small, but useful Photoshop tutorial we’ll be designing cool marble text effect.

Get started by finding a nice, suitable photo of the marble texture to work with. After that create a new document about 1000×500 pixels and bring out texture to it. Now, we are starting to create the text effect. First of all we need to type some text, where the effect will be shown. Choose the Horizontal Type Tool and type text with any color. Color is not important in this case. It’s desirable to use bold style of text for this effect. For this tutorial I used Arial Black font.

Time to start with creating the text effect. But in the beginning we need to choose the appropriate pattern we will use further in our text effect. I prefer to use this one. Open it and save as pattern by going to Edit > Define Pattern. Go back to our main document and apply following Blending Options to the text layer:

The result should be very good!

Now I suppose, we need to focus sharpness of brushes. Use the Sharpen Tool (Brush: 600 px, Mode: Normal, Strength: 50%) and focus the sharpness. We should get the following result:

Well, it’s time to add the text. Use the Horizontal Type Tool and type the text, for example: ‘SMOKE.’ Font which I used – Arial Black is standard font from Windows fonts library.

Now, we are starting to create an effect. But we need to find the right pattern before, which we will use in the text effect further. Using Google Images we may find the right pattern or you can take mine. Open it and save as a pattern. To do this: go to Edit > Define Pattern.
Now, go back to our main document and apply following Blending Options to this text layer:
• Drop Shadow
• Inner Shadow
• Inner Glow
• Bevel and Emboss
• Contour
• Pattern Overlay
• Stroke

After all we will get the following result:
