Everyone Needs Inspiration, Sometimes

Whether it be for web, graphic or print design, I think everyone needs and can do with a little inspiration at some point, and there’s nothing wrong with it, is there? Normally I just like to look at the colors and shapes of other website designs, since those are my main weak points (I recommend you do the same).
I’ve composed a small list of my main inspiration sources, please feel free to check ‘em out. There’s plenty of good stuff here to go around
Not only does their website look great, but they also have a ‘Monday Inspiration’ feature, which has included things such as type in motion, futuristic interfaces, and everything in between. Smashing Magazine also has tons of articles on every different subject, recently they published a Photoshop tutorials article which included 3 tutorials from PhotoshopStar.
Although this website is quite new, it got heaps of exposure in the local web galleries, since it is rather a unique website. Who can resist some Asian-style web design?
If you’re looking for beautiful CSS-based websites, then you can’t go past Most Inspired. Since it draws the feeds from all of the main (even some of the smaller) CSS galleries, it’s easier to visit this one site instead of the tens of others.
- PDF Mags
Art. Magazines. PDF’s. It’s got it all! PDF-Mags has all different kinds of magazines in PDF format, but I’m most interested in the Art section. Check out some of them, there’s some awesome magazines here showcasing some even more insane designers and artists. Also be sure to check out the tutorials section and maybe the design section.
It’s been called the ‘Digg for designers’ over and over again, and it’s true. I’ve recently become a member and started ‘floating’ and ’sinking’ articles, it’s actually quite addicting! There’s always interesting articles on here, but I’m most interested in the articles concerning beautiful web designs and logotypes
Although I’ve already listed Most Inspired, which lists the feed from Web Creme, I’ve got to show off this website as well. It has to be one of the top web galleries, along with CSS Remix, whereas some other gallery websites just list any website that’s submitted.
Reviews, tutorials, blogs, beautiful artwork. This site has everything, and the magazine is even better
- Faveup
Not just another website gallery, but Faveup also showcases business cards and absolutely beautiful corporate logos/identities. What more could you want?
TemplateMonster has over 10000 templates, including website templates, flash templates, logo(type) templates. Even the oldest templates at TM have beautiful artwork in them. Template designers will want to visit this site.
An easy way to get inspired just by looking at nice colors. COLOURlovers also recently added in a patterns section, so there’s actually quite a few nice patterns here as well.
That’s all I can think of for now, hope you enjoyed.
